About me
Hello! I’m Denise, mum of 2 amazing kids and the proud owner here at Halo.
I am a firm believer in the power of “self care” and truly believe that any time spent on yourself, goes a long way toward your well-being, self-confidence and over all health.
I’ve been in the industry for almost 20 years, so it’s safe to say my job is my passion and I love what I do.
Born and raised in Dublin, I started my career at the age of 18. I was lucky to have been able to work in several well-establised Salons and Spas both in Dublin and Sydney. In 2011 I moved to New Zealand (on an OE but never left) and found a job in Auckland after 5 days and I’ve been here ever since.
After my second child was born in 2017, I found it hard juggling late nights and weekends in a job that just wasn’t fulfilling enough for me. I consequently took a couple of years off to be a stay at home mum of 2 under 2. Fast forward to lockdown 2020, and I finally had the time and courage to start working for myself.
Like many others, I found that after I had my kids, my self-confidence took a real hit. Even though I worked in the industry, I found walking into any salon really daunting and intimidating. This gave me the push to really think about how to create a calm, relaxing, judgement free, and unassuming space, dedicated to just you. A space to breathe, and truly relax, with each treatment being tailored to you. Halo is not an in and out service, I really pride myself in taking time and care with each and every client that walks in the door.
Being a busy mum, I know what it’s like juggling kids and appointments ~ so our policy welcomes you, and your kids to your appointments.
